Summary

Malik transmits from Yahya ibn Said, from Abu Salama ibn Abd al-Rahman, that he heard Abu Qatada ibn Rib'i say: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: a good dream is from God, and a bad dream is from the devil. If one of you sees something he dislikes, let him spit three times to his left when he wakes, and seek refuge in God from its evil; it will not harm him, God willing. Abu Salama said: I used to see dreams that weighed on me more than a mountain, but when I heard this hadith I no longer cared about them. 1
