Summary
Yahya ibn Said narrated to Malik that Abu Qatada al-Ansari said to the Messenger of God ﷺ: I have hair, shall I comb it? The Messenger of God said: yes, and honour it. Abu Qatada would sometimes oil it twice a day, because the Messenger of God had said that to him. The editor notes that the hadith in the Muwatta is relayed (mursal) according to all transmitters, and that al-Bazzar traced it connected through Ibn al-Munkadir from Abu Qatada. 1
