Summary
Yahya ibn Said narrated to Malik that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) used to eat bread with ghee. He invited a man from the desert who began to eat, following each morsel with the dregs of the dish. Umar said: as if you were deprived? The man said: by God, I have not eaten ghee, nor seen anyone eating with it, for so many years. Umar said: I will not eat ghee until people live as they first lived. 1
