Summary
Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab, from Sulayman ibn Yasar, that the Messenger used to send Abdullah ibn Rawaha to Khaybar, and he would estimate the crop between him and the Jews of Khaybar. He said: they gathered for him some of the jewellery of their women and said: this is for you, lighten the burden on us and be lenient in the division. Abdullah ibn Rawaha said: O Jews, by God, you are among the most hateful of God's creation to me, and that does not drive me to act unjustly against you. As for the bribe you have offered, it is unlawful gain, and we do not eat it. They said: by this the heavens and earth stand. 1
