Summary
Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab, from Urak ibn Malik and Sulayman ibn Yasar, that a man from Banu Saad ibn Layth ran a horse and it trampled on the finger of a man from Juhayna, who bled from it and died. Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) asked those accused: will you swear by God fifty oaths that he did not die from it? They refused and held back. Then he asked the others, and they refused, so Umar ruled half the blood-money against the Saadites. Malik said: this is not the practice. 1
