Summary
Malik transmits from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim, from his father, that Aisha, wife of the Prophet ﷺ, married Hafsa bint Abd al-Rahman to al-Mundhir ibn al-Zubayr while Abd al-Rahman was away in Syria. When he returned he said: someone like me is treated this way, and someone like me is overruled. Aisha spoke to al-Mundhir, who said the matter was in Abd al-Rahman's hands. Abd al-Rahman said he would not reject a ruling he had given. Hafsa stayed with al-Mundhir, and that was not a divorce. 1
