A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Chain of transmission
Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Yahya ibn Sa'id, that Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab used to say: a man is raised up by the supplication of his child after him, and he pointed his hands towards the sky and raised them. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab and Suwayd transmitted it, and Ibn Abd al-Barr (al-Tamhid 23/142) says the Muwatta transmitters did not differ that it is Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab's own saying, and that Ibn Wahb transmitted it likewise from Amr ibn al-Harith and Malik from Yahya ibn Sa'id. Such a thing cannot be known by opinion. 1
