Summary
A saying of Malik in the chapter on prostration in the Qur'an: no one should recite any prostration of the Qur'an after the dawn prayer or after the afternoon prayer. He gives the reason: the Prophet ﷺ forbade prayer after dawn until the sun rises and after the afternoon until it sets, and a prostration is part of prayer, so no one should recite a prostration in those two periods. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab and Suwayd transmitted it. 1
