A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources

Summary

A report that Malik transmits from al-Ala' ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Ya'qub from his father from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him), in the chapter on waiting for prayer and walking to it: the Prophet ﷺ asked his Companions whether he should tell them what God wipes out sins and raises ranks by. He mentioned completing ablution in hardship, many steps to the mosques, and waiting for prayer after prayer, and said three times: "That is the frontier guard". The editor cites Muslim, al-Nasa'i, Ibn Hibban, Ahmad, Abu Awana and al-Bayhaqi from Malik's transmitters, and refers to al-Tamhid and to his commentary on al-Tirmidhi (51). 1
