«إن الله تبارك وتعالى لا يمل حتى تملوا، اكلفوا من العمل ما لكم به طاقة»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
A report that Malik transmits as a mursal from Isma'il ibn Abi Hakim, in the chapter on night prayer: the Prophet ﷺ heard a woman praying at night, asked about her, and was told she was al-Hawla bint Tuwayt, who did not sleep at night. He disliked this until the displeasure showed on his face. Then he said God does not tire until you tire, and ordered them to take on only the deeds they have strength for. The editor explains that the meaning is that God does not tire of the reward until they tire of the deed, which urges steady small deeds, and notes that the report is broken through Isma'il but connects in meaning through sound channels, and is in the Sahihayn from Urwa from Aisha. 1 2
