Chain of transmission

  1. Malik ibn Anas
  2. Sumayy, mawla of Abu Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman

Summary

A report that Malik transmits from Sumayy, client of Abu Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman, in the chapter on the woman with irregular bleeding: al-Qa'qa' ibn Hakim and Zayd ibn Aslam sent him to Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab to ask how an irregularly bleeding woman should bathe. He said she bathes from one purity to the next, performs ablution for each prayer, and if the blood overcomes her she binds herself with a cloth. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Suwayd and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan transmitted it, and that Ibn Abi Shayba transmitted part of it from Yahya ibn Sa'id from al-Qa'qa' asking Sa'id. 1
