Chain of transmission
Summary
The first report in the chapter on how to perform dry ablution. Yahya transmits from Malik from Nafi' that he and Abdullah ibn Umar came from al-Jurf, and when they were at al-Mirbad, Abdullah dismounted, performed dry ablution with good dust, wiped his face and his hands to the elbows, and then prayed. The editor explains al-Mirbad as a place near Medina, and notes that Abu Mus'ab, Suwayd, Ibn Wahb, Abd al-Razzaq, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan and Yahya ibn Bukayr transmitted it, and that Abd al-Razzaq and Ibn Abi Shayba transmitted it from Salim and Nafi' from Ibn Umar in similar words. 1 2
