- Salim ibn Abdallah ibn Umar
Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab from Salim ibn Abdullah, in the chapter on ablution after touching the private parts: Salim saw his father Abdullah ibn Umar bathe and then perform ablution. He asked whether bathing does not suffice in place of ablution, and he said yes, but that sometimes he touches his penis and then performs ablution. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan and Yahya ibn Bukayr transmitted it from Malik, in al-Bayhaqi, and that Abd al-Razzaq transmitted it by another channel. 1 2
