Summary
A ruling of Malik transmitted by Yahya in the chapter on wiping over socks: he was asked about a man who performed ablution, put on his socks, urinated, then took them off and put them back on, and asked whether he must renew the ablution. He said he should take off his socks, perform ablution, and wash his feet; one wipes over socks only if he put his feet into them while they were pure from the ablution, but whoever puts them on without purity may not wipe over them. The editor notes that this ruling is reported from several Successors in Ibn Abi Shayba, Abd al-Razzaq and al-Bayhaqi. 1
