Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Nu'aym ibn Abdullah al-Mujmir that he heard Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him) say, in the chapter on general rules of ablution: whoever performs ablution well and then goes out seeking prayer is in prayer as long as he seeks it; one of his steps is written as a good deed and the other erases a sin. Whoever hears the call to prayer should not hurry, for the greatest reward goes to the one who lives farthest away because of his many steps. The editor notes that Ibn Abd al-Barr said it is stopped at Abu Hurayra in the Muwatta, while its meaning connects to the Prophet ﷺ through sound reports from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and others, and that such a matter is not said by opinion. 1 2
