Chain of transmission
- Malik ibn Anas
- Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Mujabbar
Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Mujabbar, in the chapter on the prohibition of entering the mosque with the smell of garlic and covering the mouth: when Salim ibn Abdullah ibn Umar saw a man covering his mouth while praying, he pulled the garment hard away from his mouth until he removed it. The editor identifies Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Mujabbar as Abd al-Rahman ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him), called al-Mujabbar because he fell and broke and was set. Ibn Makula notes that no other three transmitters in a row have this name. 1
