Treaty of Darabjird

صلح دارابجرد

Darabjird

Uthman came to Darabjird — their banner-town and seat of religion, its master the Hirbadh — who truced on money paid and on its folk standing equal with the surrendered towns of Fars; a gathering near Jahram he scattered and took its land, then Fasa's great-man truced on Darabjird's terms — or, it is said, the Hirbadh truced it too.

Overview

A truce made by Uthman ibn Abi al-As with the Hurbudh at Darabjird, which was the seat of their learning and religion. The Hurbudh made peace with him for money he paid, and on condition that its people be treated like others among the Persians whose lands had been conquered. 1

After the peace

A large gathering formed in the area of Jahrum; Uthman dispersed them and took its land. Then he came to Fasa, and its chief made peace with him on the same terms as Darabjird. It is reported that the Hurbudh made peace over it as well. 1

Conquest of Sabur

Uthman came to Sabur in 23 or 24h — its folk already dreading the Muslims and its marzban, Shahrak's brother, having dreamed an Arab stripped his shirt, which gripped his heart — after brief defiance he sought aman: no killing no captives, dhimma and prompt payment. The people later betrayed, and in 26h Abu Musa took it by force, Uthman ibn Abi al-As on his vanguard.
