Summary

Khabbab ibn al-Aratt (may God be pleased with him), among the first Muslims in the secret call at Mecca, as counted by The Sealed Nectar 1 2.

In *The Sealed Nectar*

The book names him among those who followed the first vanguard of early Muslims, together with Abdullah ibn Mas'ud al-Hudhali and others 1 2. The book returns to him in a later section, among the weak Muslims who were tested.

What is not covered here

This chapter of the book says nothing about him beyond his early Islam. The rest of his story is completed in its places in the book and in other sources.

For young visitors

Khabbab ibn al-Aratt was one of the first Muslims. He was a poor blacksmith, and he suffered greatly for his Islam, as the biographical books relate elsewhere.

On his torture in Mecca (*The Sealed Nectar*, p. 90)

The polytheists would seize him by the hair and drag him, twist his neck, lay him down on glowing coals, and then place a stone on him so that he could not rise 3 4.
