Summary
Anas ibn Abi Marthad al-Ghanawi (may God be pleased with him), a Companion of Banu Ghani; he volunteered to guard the Muslim camp on the night before the Hunayn expedition in Shawwal, year 8 AH 1.
Guarding the night of Hunayn
When the Prophet ﷺ marched from Mecca to Hunayn and his scout brought word that Hawazin and Thaqif had massed with their wealth, women and flocks, he smiled and said: "that is the Muslims' booty tomorrow, God willing" — and Anas ibn Abi Marthad al-Ghanawi volunteered to stand guard that night 2.
