Overview

Al-Harith ibn Aws ibn Mu'adh ibn al-Nu'man al-Ansari al-Awsi, nephew of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh, lord of the Aws. 1

His mention in hadith

His mention is established in a sound hadith that Ahmad relates from Aisha: she went out on the day of the Trench and heard a sound, and it was Sa'd ibn Mu'adh with his nephew al-Harith ibn Aws carrying his shield. Ibn Hibban graded it sound. 1

The killing of Ka'b ibn al-Ashraf

Ibn Hajar considers that he witnessed the killing of Ka'b ibn al-Ashraf. In al-Bukhari, from a hadith of Jabir, Muhammad ibn Maslama came with two men: Abu Qays ibn Jabir and al-Harith ibn Aws, "this is he, God knows best". 1 Sa'd ibn Mu'adh said, in the report of Abu Na'ila, that he would go with his nephew al-Harith ibn Aws. 1
