Overview

Al-Harith ibn Amr ibn Hujr al-Kindi, of Kinda, whom Qubadh ibn Firuz appointed over al-Hira after he dismissed al-Mundhir ibn Ma' al-Sama, because al-Mundhir refused Qubadh's call to the Mazdakite doctrine. 1 2

Dismissal and flight

Qubadh was succeeded by Khosrow Anushirvan, who hated this doctrine intensely. He killed Mazdak and many who held his doctrine, and he restored al-Mundhir to the governorship of al-Hira. He sought al-Harith ibn Amr, but he escaped to the lands of the Banu Kalb and stayed among them until he died. 1

What is not recorded here

Al-Rahiq al-Makhtum does not mention here the kingdom of Kinda in Najd, or al-Harith's affair with the Banu Asad.

For young visitors

Al-Harith al-Kindi ruled al-Hira for a short time by order of the king of Persia, and then fled when the king changed.
