Summary
Malik transmits from Amr ibn al-Harith from Ubayd ibn Fayruz from al-Bara ibn Azib that the Messenger of God ﷺ was asked what should be avoided in sacrificial animals; he pointed with his hand and said four; al-Bara would point with his hand and say: my hand is shorter than the hand of the Messenger of God: the lame whose lameness is evident, the one-eyed whose blindness is evident, the sick whose sickness is evident, and the emaciated that has no marrow. The editor notes that this report is cut off, and that Ibn Abi Hatim and Ibn Abd al-Barr said the hadith was transmitted by Amr ibn al-Harith from Sulayman ibn Abd al-Rahman from Ubayd ibn Fayruz, so Malik's transmission dropped Sulayman's name. 1
