Malik transmits from Nafi, from Abdullah ibn Umar, that he said: whoever offers a camel and it gets lost or dies, then if it was a vow he replaces it, and if it was voluntary he may replace it or leave it. The editor notes that Abu Musab (1218), Suwayd (527) and Yahya ibn Bukayr (in al-Bayhaqi) transmitted it from Malik. 1
