Summary
A saying of Malik: the one in seclusion sleeps only in the mosque in which he is in seclusion, unless his tent is in an open courtyard of the mosque. Nothing is heard of a one in seclusion who builds a structure to sleep in except in the mosque or in a courtyard of it, which supports Aisha's saying: when the Messenger of God ﷺ was in seclusion he did not enter the house except for a human need. Malik says: nor should one in seclusion be on the roof of the mosque or in the minaret, meaning the tower. The editor notes that Abu Musab transmitted it from Malik (871 and 872). 1
