Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father, who said: the verse of Surat al-Isra' that forbids speaking loudly in prayer and speaking too quietly, and orders seeking a way in between, was revealed about supplication. Yahya adds: Malik was asked about supplication in the obligatory prayer, and said there is no harm in supplicating in it. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab and Suwayd transmitted Urwa's saying, and that the hadith of Hisham from his father from Aisha is sound, transmitted by al-Bukhari (6327) through Malik ibn Sa'ir from Hisham, and by al-Tabari in his commentary through Ibn al-Mubarak and Sufyan from Hisham. Malik's saying was transmitted by Abu Mus'ab and Suwayd. 1 2
