Summary
A report that Malik says reached him: Anas ibn Malik (may God be pleased with him) grew old until he could not fast, so he gave a ransom. The editor notes that Abu Musab transmitted it from Malik (809), and that Ibn Saad (7/25) transmitted from Yazid ibn Harun from Humayd al-Tawil from some of the family of Anas that in the year Anas died he could not fast, so he fed thirty needy people bread and meat. 1
