Chain of transmission
- Malik ibn Anas
- al-Ala ibn Abd al-Rahman
Summary
Malik transmits from al-Ala ibn Abd al-Rahman that he heard him say: charity has never decreased wealth; God adds to a servant who pardons only honour; and no servant humbles himself without God raising him. Malik said: I do not know whether this hadith is raised to the Prophet ﷺ or not. The editor notes that it is raised in the hadith of al-Ala from his father from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him) in Muslim and elsewhere. 1
