Summary
Malik transmits from Abdallah ibn Abi Bakr, from his father, that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: if one sneezes, say a blessing for him; if he sneezes again, say a blessing; if he sneezes again, say a blessing; if he sneezes a fourth time, say to him: you have a cold. Abdallah ibn Abi Bakr said: I do not know whether he said it after the third or the fourth. The editor notes that Ibn Abd al-Barr said the hadith in the Muwatta is relayed (mursal) with no disagreement, and that it is connected by several routes, including the hadith of Salama ibn al-Akwa and the hadith of Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him). 1
