Summary
Malik transmits from Zayd ibn Aslam that Ata ibn Yasar told him that the Messenger of God ﷺ was in the mosque when a man entered with his hair and beard dishevelled. The Messenger of God signalled to him to go out, as if to tell him to tidy his hair and beard. He did so and came back, and the Messenger of God said: is this not better than that one of you should come with dishevelled hair as if he were a devil? 1
