Summary
Malik transmits from Yahya ibn Said that a man's death came in the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ. A man said: how fortunate he is, he died without being tested by illness. The Messenger of God said: woe to you! What do you know? If God had tested him with an illness that would expiate his misdeeds. The editor notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that he does not know this wording traced to the Prophet through a preserved route. 1
