Summary
Malik transmits from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir and from Salim Abu al-Nadr, client of Umar ibn Ubaydallah, from Amir ibn Sad ibn Abi Waqqas, from his father, that he heard him ask Usama ibn Zayd (may God be pleased with him): what did you hear from the Messenger of God ﷺ about plague? Usama said: the Messenger of God said: plague is a punishment sent on a group of the Children of Israel, or on those before you; if you hear of it in a land, do not enter it, and if it breaks out in a land where you are, do not leave it to flee from it. Malik said: Abu al-Nadr said: they should leave only to flee from it. The editor discusses how Qadi Iyad and Ibn Abd al-Barr vocalised the word 'fleeing' as nominative and accusative. 1
