Summary
A saying of Malik: pulses are one kind, like wheat, dates and raisins, even if their names and colours differ. Pulses are chickpeas, lentils, black-eyed peas, chickling vetch, and anything known to people as pulses. When a man harvests five wasqs of them by the Prophet ﷺ's sa', zakat is due; if the pulses are of several kinds rather than one, they are gathered together and zakat is due. The editor notes that Abu Musab and Yahya ibn Bukayr transmitted it from Malik. 1
