Summary
A saying of Malik regarding a required animal that the owner does not have: if it is a daughter of a she-camel in its second year and it is not available, a male camel of its third year is taken in its place; if it is a daughter of a she-camel in its third year, or a four-year-old, or a five-year-old, and he does not have it, the owner of the camels must buy it for him until he brings it. Malik says he does not like the owner to pay its value instead. 1
