Summary
Malik transmits from Rabia ibn Abi Abd al-Rahman that al-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam (may God be pleased with him) met a man who had seized a thief and wanted to take him to the ruler. Al-Zubayr interceded so that he would release him. The man said: no, until I bring him to the ruler. Al-Zubayr said: when you bring him to the ruler, God curse the one who intercedes and the one interceded for. 1
