Summary
Malik related from Abdallah ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Husayn al-Makki that the Prophet ﷺ said: there is no amputation for fruit on the palm, nor for an animal grazing in the mountain. When it is taken into the enclosure or the threshing floor, amputation applies to what reaches the price of a shield. The editor notes that in the Muwatta the report is mursal according to all narrators, that its meaning is connected from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (may God be pleased with him) (may God be pleased with him), and that it is preserved from Rafi ibn Khadij. 1
