Summary
Malik transmits from Abu al-Rijal Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman, from his mother Amra bint Abd al-Rahman, that two men insulted each other in the time of Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him). One said: by God, my father is not an adulterer and my mother is not an adulteress. Umar consulted; someone said: he praised his father and mother; others said: the father and mother had another praise, and we think you should apply the prescribed punishment to him. Umar flogged him eighty lashes. 1
