«ما من نبي يموت حتى يخير»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
A report from Malik that it reached him that Aisha said: the Prophet ﷺ said that no prophet dies until he is given the choice. She said: I heard him say: O God, the Highest Companion, and I knew that he was departing. The editor notes that the words 'wife of the Prophet' are missing from the copies; Abu Musab and Suwayd transmitted it from Malik. This report is connected from Urwa from Aisha in al-Bukhari and Muslim, and the editor refers to his note on Ibn Majah (1620) and al-Tamhid (24/268). 1
