Summary
The first report in the comprehensive chapter on funerals. Malik transmits from Hisham ibn Urwa, from Abbad ibn Abdallah ibn al-Zubayr, that Aisha told him she heard the Prophet ﷺ, before he died, leaning against her chest and she listening to him, say: O God, forgive me, have mercy on me, and join me to the Highest Companion. The editor notes that some copies read 'mustasnid' (leaning), and that Abu Musab, Suwayd, al-Qanabi and Qutayba (in Muslim) transmitted it from Malik. It is in al-Bukhari, al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Hibban by other routes, and in Muslim from Masruq from Aisha. 1
