Summary
Yahya said Malik said of a man given money for profit-sharing: if the money is large enough to bear expenses, when the worker travels with it, he may eat from it and clothe himself in a customary way, in proportion to the money. He may hire from the money, if it is large and he cannot manage alone, someone to take part of his burden. Among the tasks are those the one who takes the money does not do himself, and which someone of his standing would not do: collecting debts, moving goods, binding them and the like. He may hire from the money someone to do that for him. The profit-sharing worker may not spend from the money, nor clothe himself from it, while he is resident with his family; he is permitted expenses only when he travels with it, and the money bears them. If he trades with the money in the city where he lives, he has no expenses or clothing from it. 1
