Summary
Yahya said Malik said of a man who gave another money for profit-sharing, and he bought goods with it, and carried them to a city of trade, and they were unsold, and he feared loss if he sold them, so he hired a mount to another city and sold them at a loss, and the hire exhausted the whole principal. Malik said: if what he sold covers the hire, that is its course. If some of the hire remains after the principal, it falls on the worker, and the owner of the money owes nothing more of it, because the owner only commanded him to trade with his money, and the one in profit-sharing may not claim against him for anything beyond that. 1
