Summary
Yahya transmits from Malik that it reached him that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) said: there is no hoarding in our market. Men with surplus gold do not go after provision that God has sent to our courtyard, to take possession of it and hoard it against us. Rather, whoever brings goods in, bringing them at the risk of his life in winter and summer, is the guest of Umar; let him sell as God wills and hold back as God wills. 1
