«مَن وُلدَ لَهُ وَلدٌ فَأَحَبَّ أنْ يَنْسُكَ عَن وَلدهِ فَلْيَفْعلْ»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Zayd ibn Aslam from a man of the Banu Dhamra from his father, who said: the Messenger of God ﷺ was asked about the aqiqa, and said: I do not like disobedience, as if he disliked the name. He said: whoever has a child born to him and wishes to sacrifice for his child may do so. The editor notes that Ibn Abd al-Barr knows of no report from the Prophet on this meaning except through this chain, and from the hadith of Amr ibn Shu'ayb from his father from his grandfather. 1
