Chain of transmission
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on practice in the congregational prayer. Yahya transmits from Malik from Nafi' from Ibn Umar: the Prophet ﷺ prayed two rak'as before noon and two after it, two after sunset in his house, and two after the night prayer; and he did not pray after the Friday prayer until he went out and then prayed two rak'as. The editor notes that Yahya said "in his house" only for the two after sunset, and Qa'nabi followed him, while Ibn Bukayr said it twice and Ibn Wahb three times (al-Tamhid). The editor cites al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, al-Nasa'i, Ibn Khuzayma, al-Darimi and Ahmad. 1 2
