Overview
The hadith of Umm Hani bint Abi Talib on the forenoon prayer on the day of the Conquest of Mecca, and on her granting protection to a man. Malik transmits it from Abu al-Nadr, from Abu Murra, freedman of Aqil, from her, in the chapter "on the forenoon prayer" 1.
What the hadith reports
Umm Hani went to the Prophet ﷺ in the year of the Conquest and found him washing, while Fatima, his daughter, screened him with a cloth. She greeted him, and he said: "Who is this?" She said: "Umm Hani bint Abi Talib." He said: "Welcome, Umm Hani." When he had finished washing, he stood and prayed eight rak'as, wrapped in one garment, and then turned away. She said to him: "O Messenger of God, the son of my mother, Ali, claims that he will kill a man I have given protection to, so-and-so ibn Hubayra." He said: "We have given protection to the one you have protected, Umm Hani." Umm Hani said: "That was at forenoon" 1.

Its place in the museum
The hadith is a foundation among Sunnis for the forenoon prayer and for the validity of a woman granting protection. It adds, to the picture of the day of the Conquest of Mecca, a scene from the Prophet's household. See Prayer. 1
