«صلاة أحدكم وهو قاعد مثل نصف صلاته وهو قائم»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on the merit of the standing prayer over the seated prayer. Yahya transmits from Malik from Isma'il ibn Muhammad ibn Sa'd from a client of Amr ibn al-As (may God be pleased with him) or Abdullah ibn Amr, from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (may God be pleased with him): the Prophet ﷺ told that the seated person's prayer is like half the standing person's prayer. The editor notes that the transmitters from Malik did not differ on it, and that Ibn Uyayna transmitted it from Isma'il from Anas, but the saying of the transmitters is that Malik was right and the hadith is preserved for Abdullah ibn Amr (al-Tamhid). 1
