Summary

A report that Malik transmits from Afif ibn Amr al-Sahmi from a man of the Banu Asad, in the chapter on repeating prayer with the imam: a man asked Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may God be pleased with him) whether, if he prays at home and then comes to the mosque and finds the imam praying, he should pray with him. Abu Ayyub said yes, pray with him, for whoever does this has a share of the reward of congregation, one portion or the like of a congregational portion. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan and Yahya ibn Bukayr in al-Bayhaqi transmitted it. 1
