Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Nafi', in the chapter on the command to pray the witr: Abdullah ibn Umar was with Nafi' in Mecca when the sky was cloudy. Ibn Umar feared dawn and prayed the witr with one rak'a. Then the clouds cleared and he thought it was still night, so he added one rak'a to make the witr even, then prayed two rak'as at a time. When he feared dawn again, he prayed one rak'a as the witr. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Suwayd and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan transmitted it from Malik. 1 2
