Summary

A report that Malik transmits from Zayd ibn Aslam from his father Aslam, client of Umar, in the chapter on night prayer: Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) prayed what God willed at night, and when it was the last part of the night he woke his family for prayer, saying "Prayer, prayer". Then he recited verse 132 of Surat Ta-Ha, which orders the Prophet ﷺ to command his family to pray and be steadfast in it. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Suwayd, Abd al-Razzaq and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan transmitted it, and that al-Tabari cited it in his commentary from Hisham ibn Sa'd from Zayd ibn Aslam. 1
