Summary

The first hadith in the chapter on dress, stepping over necks and facing the imam on Friday. Yahya transmits from Malik from Yahya ibn Sa'id, as a report, that the Prophet ﷺ said there is no harm if one of you has two garments for his Friday prayer apart from the two garments he works in. The editor notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that the hadith connects through several good channels from Aisha and others, and that Ibn Hajar, in Fath al-Bari, questioned the chain through Amra from Aisha, which was transmitted as a mursal from Yahya ibn Hibban, though Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah connected it through another channel from Abdullah ibn Salam. The editor holds all these channels to be weak, as he explained in his commentary on Ibn Majah, so the hadith is unsteady for him. 1 2
