Summary

The first report in the chapter on not reciting behind the imam in prayers he recites aloud. Yahya transmits from Malik from Nafi': when Abdullah ibn Umar was asked whether anyone recites behind the imam, he said whoever prays behind the imam is sufficed by the imam's recitation, and whoever prays alone should recite. He himself did not recite behind the imam. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Suwayd and Ibn Wahb in al-Tahawi, and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan transmitted it. 1
